France - show case

Our adaptable French blueprint not only provides a compelling template for future growth but also represents the initial milestone for achieving an efficient time-to-market in the biogas production industry, allowing you to progress from inception to full commercial operation within 18-24 months.

12

million euro capex

Our comprehensive investment breakdown is designed for your benefit: 50% dedicated to seamless installation, 35% for robust civil engineering and grid connection, and 15% allocated to state-of-the-art equipment.

2300000

At the heart of our strategy is the commitment to minimizing ongoing operational expenses (OPEX), ensuring a robust EBITDA that guarantees a clear, predictable, and stable return on investment. This approach not only safeguards a rapid repayment of the total investment within 5-6 years but does so even without the impact of RED.

24

months till operation

The project follows a timeline of a maximum of 24 months, with 9 months dedicated to the preparation for the ready-to-build phase, followed by 14 months for construction and an additional month for the hot commissioning phase.

5

projects pipeline

We've strategically chosen five prime locations, all situated in the South of France, to leverage the commercial and technological advantages of Anaerobic Dry Digestion (ADD). This geographical selection offers the ideal backdrop for innovation and excellence in sustainable energy solutions.

From January 1, 2024, French municipalities must separate and properly process organic waste by law. The growing organic waste volume surpasses current capabilities. The French government acknowledges this and is ensuring minimum biomethane prices to encourage new project initiatives.

Our solution

Time-to-Market is critical for success. Projects with a capacity of more than 36,000 tons per year. organic waste are facing extended licensing procedures. This results in longer time-to-market and more resistance from external stakeholders. SusBDe’s individual projects have therefore a capacity of 36,000 tons per year organic waste. Copying this modular design to more locations ensures full scalability to larger capacities and higher production of Biomethane and Bio-fertilizer – while minimizing the investment risks.

Key benefits

Anaerobic Dry Digestion (ADD) fills a gap in the current range of technical solutions for processing organic waste in France. Our system offers a robust and stable process, while using only small amounts of water, making it particularly suitable for arid regions. We have created a scalable platform that converts waste into a valuable energy source, based on a field-proven and successful process.

Strategy

The projects we deliver are thoroughly screened for feasibility and supported by the local stakeholders. We integrate long term contracts for feedstock delivery and locations into organic waste to energy conversion projects. The produced Biomethane and Bio-fertilizer are a highly sought-after products andensure financial feasibility. All projects include the required  permits and are ready to be engineered, built and taken into operation and exploited.

We've established strong local connections and partnerships to enhance our operations

Our partners are not merely collaborators during the design and construction phases; they are integral allies who accompany us on our mission to pioneer the first five projects in the South of France.

Imagreen - Permit Experts: Our team collaborates with Imagreen, specialists in permit applications. They navigate the intricacies of site-related permits and procedures with precision.

Veolia & SEDE - Waste Management Allies: Teaming up with Veolia allows us to expand our organic waste treatment capabilities, ensuring we can manage the projected increase effectively.

GRDF - Pipeline Visionaries: Our partnership with GRDF provides us access to their extensive pipeline expertise. This empowers us to inject Biomethane into vast networks, contributing to a more sustainable future.

Geres - Experts on regional context: Working together with the Geres France team we aresupported by their advisory skills and we are better in terms to understand the needs of the territorial authorities and regional players in the interests of an inclusive, solidarity-based energy transition.

Landplot selection

Selecting the right landplot and ensuring a reliable feedstock supply are essential starting points for every project. Our process involves three key stages in landplot selection:

  1. Identified: Pinpointing potential locations.
  2. Screened: Evaluating their suitability.
  3. Secured: Finalizing plot lease agreements.

Feedstock availability

Feedstock, or the availability of organic waste, is the cornerstone of biogas production. Thanks to our strategic partnership with Veolia, we've successfully secured a steady supply for our pilot facility in Southern France.

Our feedstock comprises a strategic blend of resources, including organic household waste, supermarket waste (DSM, "Déchets Alimentaires en Supermarchés"), and municipal green waste. This unique combination not only ensures a sustainable and consistent source of feedstock but also aligns perfectly with environmentally responsible practices, making it an attractive investment opportunity.

ICPE, pivotal for any project's success

Central to this timeline is the ICPE permitting process—ICPE standing for Installation Classified for the Protection of the Environment—which also encompasses a portion of the construction permit. This critical process spans 8 months and serves as the linchpin of this phase; without the ICPE permit, the project cannot proceed. In collaboration with Imagreen, our local partner deeply ingrained in local procedures, well-acquainted with key stakeholders, and adept at evaluating project feasibility, we ensure a comprehensive and successful assessment of each project.

From Ready-to-Build towards Commercial Operation

The journey from the 'Ready-to-Build' phase to full 'Commercial Operation' in just 24 months is an opportunity for potential investors. At every stage along this path, investors can actively participate and contribute according to our milestone schedule.

Senegal

Commencing April 14th, 2024, Savoie Senegal and SusBDe join forces to confront Senegal's waste management issues and foster clean energy production for the region. Leveraging organic waste sourced from municipal collections by local partners, the initiative aims to effect positive change and cultivate renewable energy solutions.
