A new phase for SusBDe, and announces leadership transition
SusBDe announces that Mike van den Hof has stepped down as shareholder and director of the company effective 31 March 2026.
Over the past four years Mike has contributed to the development of SusBDe’s activities and early international project development within the company’s waste-to-energy platform. During this period SusBDe has continued to expand its technology platform and international project pipeline, focusing on scalable circular waste solutions based on dry and wet anaerobic digestion technology.
An important milestone in this development is the upcoming opening of the Nagpur waste-to-energy project in India later this year.
At the same time SusBDe continues to advance new opportunities in Europe (Ukraine, Poland, France), Brazil and Asia, including project development in Sri Lanka.
Mike will transfer his duties over the next weeks. SusBDe thanks Mike for his contribution during the past years and wishes him success in his future activities.
SusBDe remains fully committed to the continued development of its international projects and partnerships in the field of circular waste management and sustainable energy solutions.

Leadership Update: As of 31 March 2026, Mike van den Hof has stepped down as shareholder and director of SusBDe. Over the past four years, he contributed to the development of the company’s international activities and waste-to-energy platform.

SusBDe expands its presence in Suriname and Guyana through local representation, focusing on scalable Waste-to-Energy solutions that convert agricultural residues into renewable energy and high-quality fertilizers.

SusBDe Biotech Lanka is officially registered under BOI Section 17 and has been allocated 12 acres within the Kerawalapitiya Waste Management Zone, one of Sri Lanka’s key strategic hubs for municipal solid waste (MSW) processing.

SusBDe’s partner Pelican Biogas is advancing a portfolio of six poultry-waste-to-biogas plants in Arkansas, with SusBDe supporting the technology and process design. Each plant converts ~100,000 tons of waste into 35+ million m³ of biogas annually, applying the same technology platform used in Europe. With first operations expected in 2027, the portfolio illustrates how proven European systems enable large-scale circular energy solutions in the U.S.

Nagpur’s flagship CBG plant has entered cold commissioning, validating all core systems of a facility capable of treating up to 1,500 tonnes of MSW daily and generating 27 million m³ of renewable biogas each year. With construction complete, the project now moves into operational testing—an essential step toward one of India’s largest biomethane production hubs.

SusBDe joined the Dutch Trade Mission at IFAT India 2025 in Mumbai, presenting its Waste-to-Energy concept and engaging with partners and government leaders on advancing circular solutions in India’s growing sustainability sector.

This week, Jaap Veenenbos and Harshavardhini Varagunan represent SusBDe, it partners at the Dutch biogas sector at IFAT India 2025 in Mumbai. From the Netherlands Pavilion, they are meeting with partners, project developers, and investors to showcase how Dutch technology is driving India’s circular energy transition.
