All other (non MSW related) SusBDe Group of Companies bioenergy activities in India — including projects based on chicken litter, agricultural waste, and decentralized CBG development — are represented and supported by Mr. Sunil Kumar Bains, a board-level energy executive with over 37 years of experience in Oil & Gas, CGD, and renewable gas infrastructure development.
Mr. Bains has played a pioneering role in large-scale waste-to-energy and CBG projects across India, including leadership positions in MSW-to-CBG initiatives under the SATAT framework. His expertise spans:
As former Director (Commercial) and Board Member at Central UP Gas Limited (BPCL–GAIL JV), he led commercial strategy and infrastructure growth at one of India’s leading CGD companies. Today, as India Representative for SusBDe Group of Companies, Mr. Bains focuses on:
His deep regulatory insight, execution discipline, and national energy network make him a key driver in SusBDe’s expansion in the Indian bioenergy market.

SusBDe welcomes Mr. Sunil Kumar Bains as India Representative, bringing over 37 years of experience in Oil & Gas, CGD, and renewable gas infrastructure to drive SusBDe's expansion in the Indian bioenergy market.

Leadership Update: As of 31 March 2026, Mike van den Hof has stepped down as shareholder and director of SusBDe. Over the past four years, he contributed to the development of the company’s international activities and waste-to-energy platform.

SusBDe expands its presence in Suriname and Guyana through local representation, focusing on scalable Waste-to-Energy solutions that convert agricultural residues into renewable energy and high-quality fertilizers.

SusBDe Biotech Lanka is officially registered under BOI Section 17 and has been allocated 12 acres within the Kerawalapitiya Waste Management Zone, one of Sri Lanka’s key strategic hubs for municipal solid waste (MSW) processing.

SusBDe’s partner Pelican Biogas is advancing a portfolio of six poultry-waste-to-biogas plants in Arkansas, with SusBDe supporting the technology and process design. Each plant converts ~100,000 tons of waste into 35+ million m³ of biogas annually, applying the same technology platform used in Europe. With first operations expected in 2027, the portfolio illustrates how proven European systems enable large-scale circular energy solutions in the U.S.

Nagpur’s flagship CBG plant has entered cold commissioning, validating all core systems of a facility capable of treating up to 1,500 tonnes of MSW daily and generating 27 million m³ of renewable biogas each year. With construction complete, the project now moves into operational testing—an essential step toward one of India’s largest biomethane production hubs.

SusBDe joined the Dutch Trade Mission at IFAT India 2025 in Mumbai, presenting its Waste-to-Energy concept and engaging with partners and government leaders on advancing circular solutions in India’s growing sustainability sector.
