‍Waste-to-Value, Biomethane and Circular Economy Project Development

Saudi Arabia — SusBDe and Axion Circular (www.axioncircular.com) have strengthened their strategic cooperation to develop opportunities in waste-to-value, renewable gas and circular economy solutions in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia.

The cooperation supports Saudi Arabia’s broader ambitions to reduce its dependency on landfilling, recover valuable resources from waste and increase the production of renewable energy and low-carbon fuels.

Under the cooperation, Axion Circular takes the lead in project development and local market engagement in Saudi Arabia, bringing local market knowledge, relationships and stakeholder engagement capabilities. SusBDe supports the development and implementation of individual projects through its technology, engineering and Ready-to-Operate (RtO) capabilities.

The cooperation combines SusBDe’s integrated approach to technology, engineering and operational support with Axion Circular’s local project-development capabilities. Together, the companies aim to identify and develop projects that can convert locally available waste streams into renewable gas, recovered resources and other valuable circular-economy products.

Focus on Saudi Arabia

The cooperation focuses broadly on opportunities across Saudi Arabia. Axion Circular will lead local project development and market engagement, while SusBDe will provide technology, engineering and associated Ready-to-Operate support for qualifying projects. Individual opportunities will be evaluated and advanced on a project-by-project basis and subject to separate project-specific agreements.

The cooperation is designed to combine strong local market development with proven international technology, engineering and project-delivery capabilities, supporting the development of practical and commercially viable circular-economy infrastructure.

Leadership Perspective

The leadership of both companies shares a common commitment to developing commercially viable waste-to-value and renewable energy projects in Saudi Arabia. Their perspectives reflect the complementary strengths of SusBDe and Axion Circular and their shared ambition to turn identified opportunities into successful projects.

Jaap Veenenbos, Group CEO of SusBDe, commented:

“Saudi Arabia represents an important market for the development of large-scale circular economy and renewable gas projects. Through our cooperation with Axion Circular, we combine strong local market knowledge and project development with SusBDe’s technology, engineering and Ready-to-Operate approach. We look forward to converting the opportunities currently under development into concrete projects.”

Abdulaziz Al Jazzar, Group CEO of Axion Circular, commented:

“We are very pleased to strengthen our cooperation with SusBDe and to take a leading role in the development of circular economy and renewable gas projects in Saudi Arabia. Our focus is on identifying and developing high-quality projects that create long-term value from waste, support resource recovery and contribute to the Kingdom’s sustainability ambitions. We look forward to working with SusBDe and our partners to turn these opportunities into successful projects in Saudi Arabia.”

Building Long-Term Value

SusBDe and Axion Circular will continue to evaluate individual opportunities, focusing on the development of commercially viable waste-to-value and renewable energy projects. Project structures and responsibilities will be defined through separate project-specific agreements.

The cooperation brings together the complementary capabilities of both companies:
- SusBDe
— Technology, engineering and Ready-to-Operate (RtO) solutions, including operational support and performance assurance.
- Axion Circular
— Lead project development, local market engagement and stakeholder coordination in Saudi Arabia.
