SusBDe continues to expand its international footprint with the further development of Waste-to-Energy projects in Suriname and Guyana. In this context, SusBDe works closely with Robert Dijkstra and Marciano Djanam, who represent SusBDe locally and support project development in the region.
The focus is on the sustainable conversion of organic residual and waste streams from the agro and food sector — such as rice residues and manure streams — into renewable energy and high-quality fertilizers. This approach provides a concrete alternative to open burning of agricultural residues and contributes to improved environmental performance, energy security and circular resource use.
SusBDe develops and delivers turn-key installations in which organic material is converted into biogas through a controlled anaerobic process. After limited treatment, the biogas can be used — after further upgrading — as bio-CNG for industrial, transport and household applications. In parallel, the process produces safe, nutrient-rich fertilizers that support soil quality and agricultural productivity.
The collaboration with Robert Dijkstra and Marciano Djanam combines strong local knowledge and networks with SusBDe’s technical, financial and governance expertise. This creates a solid foundation for scalable, bankable projects with long-term value for local stakeholders, investors and public partners.
“Suriname and Guyana have strong agricultural sectors and significant organic residue streams. Circular energy solutions can make a tangible economic and environmental impact in this context.”
Over the coming period, several project initiatives will be further developed towards feasibility studies and investment decisions.

SusBDe attended the 60th anniversary edition of IFAT 2026 in Munich together with representatives from the SusBDe Group of Companies, Keva SusBDe Biotech and SusBDe India B.V. The visit focused on developments in waste segregation, PSA and membrane technologies, biomethane solutions and strengthening relationships with international partners, suppliers and technology providers.

SusBDe welcomes Mr. Sunil Kumar Bains as India Representative, bringing over 37 years of experience in Oil & Gas, CGD, and renewable gas infrastructure to drive SusBDe's expansion in the Indian bioenergy market.

Leadership Update: As of 31 March 2026, Mike van den Hof has stepped down as shareholder and director of SusBDe. Over the past four years, he contributed to the development of the company’s international activities and waste-to-energy platform.

SusBDe expands its presence in Suriname and Guyana through local representation, focusing on scalable Waste-to-Energy solutions that convert agricultural residues into renewable energy and high-quality fertilizers.

SusBDe Biotech Lanka is officially registered under BOI Section 17 and has been allocated 12 acres within the Kerawalapitiya Waste Management Zone, one of Sri Lanka’s key strategic hubs for municipal solid waste (MSW) processing.

SusBDe’s partner Pelican Biogas is advancing a portfolio of six poultry-waste-to-biogas plants in Arkansas, with SusBDe supporting the technology and process design. Each plant converts ~100,000 tons of waste into 35+ million m³ of biogas annually, applying the same technology platform used in Europe. With first operations expected in 2027, the portfolio illustrates how proven European systems enable large-scale circular energy solutions in the U.S.

Nagpur’s flagship CBG plant has entered cold commissioning, validating all core systems of a facility capable of treating up to 1,500 tonnes of MSW daily and generating 27 million m³ of renewable biogas each year. With construction complete, the project now moves into operational testing—an essential step toward one of India’s largest biomethane production hubs.
