UPDATE TWO: IFAT India 2025: Strengthening Dutch–Indian Collaboration

SusBDe joined the Dutch Trade Mission at IFAT India 2025 in Mumbai, presenting its Waste-to-Energy concept and engaging with partners and government leaders on advancing circular solutions in India’s growing sustainability sector.

This year’s IFAT India, organized by the Netherlands Water Platform, brought together leading innovators in water, waste, and recycling.

SusBDe proudly joined the Netherlands Trade Mission on Water and Waste Management, led by Mrs. Thierry van Helden, Deputy Head of Mission of the Consulate General of the Kingdom of the Netherlands in Mumbai.

During the opening, Mr. Nabil Taouti, Consul General and Head of Mission, welcomed all participants — highlighting the record number of Dutch companies present this year and the growing importance of India for Dutch sustainability expertise.

A field visit to IDH Textile Recycling underlined the essential role of recycling inthe circular economy. SusBDe explored synergies with local NGOs on how its Waste-to-Energy systems can help small businesses by providing segregatedtextile fractions as valuable feedstock.

On the first day of the fair, Jaap Veenenbos, CEO of the SusBDe Group of Companies,presented the SusBDe concept — emphasizing how the company’s integrated approach and performance-backed guarantees provide investors and operators with unique financial and operational security.

At the roundtable organized by the Dutch Embassy, Consulate General, and NetherlandsEnterprise Agency (RVO), SusBDe joined 15 Dutch organizations in discussions with Ms. Roopa Mishra, Joint Secretary at the Ministry of Housing and Urban Development, on facilitating project development in India’s waste and watersectors.

Throughout the fair, the Dutch Pavilion — and especially the SusBDe stand — attracted strong interest from partners, developers, and investors alike, confirming therelevance of Dutch Waste-to-Energy expertise for India’s circular future.
